Cypherium Job Description – Marketing Intern

Cypherium is a decentralized smart contract platform for creating and connecting dApps, CBDCs, Enterprise Applications, and Digital Assets. It features a hybrid dual chain consensus mechanism, Proof-of-Work and HotStuff, to scale to billions of users and preserve full decentralization. As a layer-1 protocol, Cypherium successfully addresses the chronic blockchain trilemma, which forces projects to make trade-offs between speed, security, and decentralization. Among our most salient and distinguishing features are instant transaction finality, thousands of transactions-per-second speeds, high throughput, full Nakamoto decentralization, cross-chain operability, Java Virtual Machine, and full horizontal integration with Ethereum.Cypherium comes with both public and private versions. Currently, the private version is available to use, and the public version will be released in the next few months. Cypherium has released its fully functioning mainnet preview, which is available for public mining. The mainnet is scheduled to launch in Q3, 2020.

Work on Cypherium began in 2017 by the founding development team, whose academic experience spans philosophy and economics to mathematics and computer science, from Columbia, Cornell, and Yale, along with professional experiences at Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Verizon, Huwei Technology, Tencent, and the European Supercomputing Center. We recognized that with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major blockchains, to operate the network, users must excessively spend computing resources. Scalability had come at the cost of decentralization and issues, such as high transaction fees, slow transaction speeds, inefficient smart contracts, no transaction finality, occurrence of forking, and error-prone programming yielded blockchain innovation impractical.

Consequently, we set out to build a distributed ledger technology that could scale without abandoning the key principle that has inspired the current blockchain revolution: true decentralization. In our path toward making that goal a reality, Cypherium has released a testnet, with the support of incredible partners including Google, Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Randstad, Chainlink, BloXroute labs, IC3, US Faster Payments Council, OMFIF Digital Monetary Institute, and advisors, including Augur’s Jeremy Gardener, EPFL Director Professor Bryan Ford, Cornell Professor Emin Gun Sirer, and Avalabs Co-founder Ted Yin. During the three years of development, we sought to address the need for decentralized innovation in governance, protocol design, verification design, and accessibility of software.

Cypherium has now become one of the first blockchain companies with real, tangible blockchain applications with the world’s largest Internet company, Google, and the world’s largest Human Resource firm and Fortune 500 company, Randstad. Our most important innovation of this use case, decentralized identity layer combined with consensus and smart contracts, serves as the key foundation for CBDC integration and other potential applications. Our Digital Currency Interoperability Framework (DCIF) expresses the cutting-edge features of the Cypherium blockchain without sacrificing the security and scalability required for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). If offers decentralized identity authentication for both practical anonymity and retrievable KYC necessary to combat criminality and terrorism. It can be integrated with current systems, including business applications, legacy transaction systems, and parallel blockchain systems. DCIF supports cross-chain transactions between any two CBDCs or other digital currencies through tools like CypherLink (a notary scheme cross-ledger framework), Cypherium Connect (a third-party plug-in module for banking systems), and Cypherium Validator (a verification machine), and Cypherium ID (decentralized ID authentication system).
